TENTANG KAMI – Tas Kulit Warisan Generasi ke Generasi
CERITA KAMI
Walklo began with a simple frustration—bags that looked good but failed in function and durability.
After a disappointing experience with a so-called “genuine leather” bag that peeled within a year, our founder, Al, decided to create something better. We started by making bags for ourselves—pieces that felt right, worked intuitively, and aged with character.
Every Walklo bag is designed with thoughtful organization, where everything has its place. Not more compartments—just the right ones.
Crafted in Yogyakarta, we collaborate with skilled artisans whose craftsmanship has been passed down through generations. In a time where mass-produced alternatives dominate, we aim to restore value to their work through fair opportunities and modern relevance.
We also dedicate 10% of our profits to supporting orphans—so every piece carries a purpose beyond itself.
This is more than a bag.
It’s a return to what matters.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY of Our Heirloom Quality Leather Bags and Organizers
In a world where we carry more than ever, most bags still fail at the simplest task—keeping things in order.
Walklo is designed differently. Each piece is built with intention, shaped around the way modern essentials are actually used. Not oversized spaces, but precise ones—so everything fits, and stays where it belongs.
Guided by an engineer’s mindset, our designs are measured, functional, and quietly efficient—finished with a timeless, vintage character.
We use only full-grain cowhide leather. No synthetic no shortcut. Just materials that age with dignity, developing a patina. Because what we create is not just meant to carry your belongings—
but to evolve with you over time.
KUALITAS
Quality, for us, is never incidental—it is built through time.
Before offering a single product, our founder spent years refining materials, construction, and form through continuous testing. Each design is lived with, adjusted, and tested again—until it proves its worth in daily use.
As a small workshop, we move deliberately. Every piece takes time, because it should.
We stand behind what we make with a garansi not as a promise of perfection, but as a commitment to responsibility.
Because true quality is not just how something is made,
but how it endures.
KULIT YANG KAMI PAKAI
We work primarily with Indonesian cowhide—valued for its strength, character, and natural resilience. It is a material shaped by real conditions, and long trusted in high-quality goods around the world.
Our leather is predominantly vegetable tanned leather (kulit dengan proses penyamakan alami) processed with care to reduce harmful impact while preserving its natural integrity. Tanned in Yogyakarta by experienced hands, each hide is selected for its texture, durability, and consistency.
We keep our leather as natural as possible. No heavy coatings, no artificial correction—allowing it to age honestly over time.
Marks, variations, and subtle imperfections are not flaws, but proof of authenticity. Because no two pieces of leather are ever the same.
What follows is a gradual transformation—a patina, that deepens with use, reflecting the life it carries.
This is the nature of real leather.
It doesn’t wear out. It evolves.
HARDWARE & ARTISAN
Every detail matters.
Our hardware is crafted from solid brass—chosen for its strength, weight, and the way it ages alongside the leather. Whenever possible, we work with local craftsmen in Kotagede, a place long known for its metalworking heritage. When demand exceeds their capacity, we carefully source from trusted makers abroad without compromising our standards.
We pair this with YKK Jepang for zippers from Japan—reliable, precise, and made to endure years of use.
Each bag is brought to life in Yogyakarta by skilled artisans whose craftsmanship has been refined over generations. Many of our pieces are jahit tangan manual, a slower process that results in exceptional strength and longevity.
This is where everything comes together—
material, detail, and the hands that shape them.
PENDIRI WALKLO LEATHER
Walklo was founded by Al (Intan Al Azhar), with a background in Civil Engineering and Urban Development, and over a decade of experience in construction.
His approach is shaped by structure and precision—but also by a growing appreciation for leather as a living material. The idea of patina, how something evolves and gains character over time, became central to his philosophy.
Outside of work, time spent sketching, hiking, and exploring the outdoors continues to influence his perspective—balancing function with a sense of quiet expression.
At Walklo, this translates into designs that are thoughtful, durable, and deliberately free from the ordinary.
